Utilising technology for construction site accreditation validation

No quod sanctus instructior ius, et intellegam interesset duo. Vix cu nibh gubergren dissentias. His velit veniam habemus ne. No doctus neglegentur vituperatoribus est, qui ad ipsum oratio. Ei duo dicant facilisi, qui at harum democritum consetetur.

While the UK construction sector is presented with opportunities as a direct result of industry growth, challenges remain around accreditation validation; particularly for contractors who have thousands of workers across hundreds of sites at any one time. These companies face the challenge of ensuring all workers have the required training and qualifications for the work that they carry out.

Until recently, this process has been paper-based and manually carried out through random checks. The multitude of qualifications and competencies workers can obtain makes it a very cumbersome, but necessary, process.

However, failure to establish a robust and accurate method for accreditation validation provides an opportunity for unqualified workers to be on site, compromising workers’ safety. The repercussions of accidents involving unqualified workers are severe, including significant fines and imprisonment.

Compliance can be achieved via software integration with both CITB and CSCS card scheme databases in order to instantly check and validate workers’ qualifications and competencies. Ultimately, a lack of integration will continue to hinder the construction industry.

Both contractors and sub-contractors need to take responsibility for accreditation validation, ensuring it is a top priority in order for the industry to develop a fully-qualified and trusted workforce.
